3. Label Operations and Four-Step Wizard Overview

Label Manager for Confluence includes three different bulk operations: add, change, and remove. Each operation follows the same workflow.

3.1 The Three Operations

Operation	What it does	Best used for
Add Bulk Labels	Applies one or more labels to selected pages. Existing labels are preserved.	Tagging new content; applying baseline labels across a space.
Replace Bulk Labels	Replace an existing label with a new one by removing the old label and applying the new.	Renaming labels; restructuring a content taxonomy.
Remove Bulk Labels	Remove specific labels from selected pages without affecting others.	Cleaning up deprecated or incorrectly applied tags.

All three operations are available for pages, blog posts, and live docs (Page Label Operations) and file attachments (Attachment Label Operations).

Permissions: The app only modifies content you have edit access to. Pages outside your permissions are automatically skipped and reported in the post-run summary.

3.2 The Four-Step Wizard

Every operation follows the same four-step flow. Completed steps are marked with a green checkmark in the left-hand progress sidebar.

Step	Name	Purpose
1	Select Labels	Choose the label(s) to add, replace, or remove.
2	Content Selection	Select the pages (and optionally their child pages) affected or select the attachments of a page.
3	Review & Confirm	Check a summary before the operation runs.
4	Complete	View the results (successful, skipped, and error) and close the dialog.

3.3 Supported Content Types

Content type	Available operations	Scope

Content types such as folder, whiteboard, database, slides, and smart link lack field labels, so we skipped these items.
