7.2 Content Selection Options

When re-labeling an entire project section, select the top-level page and use This content with its all child content - the operation cascades through all descendants automatically.

7.3 Processing Results Reference

Result	Colour	Meaning
Total Processed	Blue	Total pages or attachments evaluated during the operation.
Successful	Green	Items updated without any problem.
Skipped	Yellow	Items the label wasn't found on (Remove only), or items outside your edit permissions. Expand the row with › for details.
Error	Red	Items that failed to process. Expand the row with › for the error detail.

7.4 Label Naming Rules

Rule	Detail
Allowed characters	Labels must be lower case and cannot contain spaces. Use letters, numbers, underscores, or hyphens only; for multi-word labels, use an underscore or hyphen, for example this_is_a_label or this-is-a-label.
Maximum length	255 characters.
Duplicates	If a label already exists on an item, it is not duplicated - the item is counted as successful and the operation continues.
Scope	Labels are space-scoped in Confluence. The same label name in different spaces is independent.

7.5 Best Practices

Use Replace instead of Remove + Add. For renaming a label, Replace Bulk Labels is a single atomic step - faster and cleaner than two separate operations.

Test on a small selection first. Run the operation on a few pages before applying it to the whole space to confirm the result matches your expectation.

Use "Choose Content" carefully on large spaces. Selecting a top-level page with many descendants can affect hundreds of pages. Review the Review & Confirm summary before clicking Confirm.

Check the results table after every run. Skipped and Error rows expand to show which pages were affected - handle any failures manually if needed.
